The PRIME conference in Madrid took place on the 27th of November at the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid. We were pleased to have the presence of the University's Vice-chancellor of International Relations, Mrs. Asunción Martínez, and the presence of a representative of OAPEE (National Agency). As well as a debate about the different opinions on mobility, mediated by the Vicedean for International Relations of the Faculty of Economics, Martha Saboya and by the Vicedean for International Relations of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, Yolanda Garcia. Both the OAPEE representative (National Agency) Loreta and the director of the International Relations office presented very interesting data on mobility. Many young people attended the conference, including ESN members from all of Spain and coordinators for Erasmus or mobility among universities in various Spanish cities, for example: University of Granada, University of Cordoba, University of Alcalá, Complutense University of Madrid, Camilo José Cela University. Many others were very interested in the project but could not attend the conference. We sent them the PRIME booklet and information by mail.
In order to organize the conference, ESN UAM created a work group made up of five people, which included: Laura Perelló, Daniel Duma, Alejandro Rodriguez, Coral Pizarro and Adriana Pérez Encinas as the main coordinator of the event.
To publicize the conference among the UAM students, we sent them an email from the Chancellor's International Relations office, posted signs and handed out flyers (see attached documents). There were approximately 40-50 people in attendance, quite a success!
During the event, there was a 30-minute pause for breakfast and at the end of the event we invited the participants to a Spanish appetizer, where they were joined by other university representatives, such as the administrator and many vicedeans.
The university supported us in everything we needed and backed us at all times. This has honestly been a very satisfactory experience, which we would like to repeat. All those attending the conference concluded that PRIME is a project of great importance and that there should continue to be studies on the matter, since these are topics that concern all of us who work for or help international students.
In name of ESN Spain and ESN UAM, we would like to thank ESN AISBL for their support and trust in the organization of this conference, and especially thank Tony and Emanuela for their magnificent presentation on the project's results and the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid for their warm welcome and unconditional support.
